The procedure for implementing customs declarations for e-commerce goods was discussed today by participants in a meeting of the advisory group on improving the efficiency of customs control under the Public Advisory Council of the State Customs Committee.

The two existing categories of goods—those transported in trade and for personal use—are being supplemented by a new category: e-commerce goods, as stipulated by the Protocol on Amendments to the Customs Code of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU). Sixteen legal acts have been adopted within the Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC) to further the provisions of the Protocol. The State Customs Committee is currently actively working to amend the Law on Customs Regulation in the Republic of Belarus and the Council of Ministers' Resolutions.

At an event chaired by Deputy Chairman of the State Customs Committee Andrey Bolshakov and attended by representatives of the Republican Unitary Enterprise Belpochta, issues related to the upcoming regulation of e-commerce were discussed, including the introduction of a trading operator, temporary storage of goods, determining the location of customs operations for them, and readiness to implement the declaration of such goods in Belarus.

The customs authorities' information system for processing declarations for e-commerce goods has been improved. The entire process for submitting such declarations is currently being tested. From the date of entry into force of the Protocol on Amendments to the Customs Code of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU), Belarusian customs will be able to submit such documents.
