The largest Oath of customs officers in the history of sovereign Belarus took place today on the National Flag Square.
At the country's most important ceremonial venue, 227 young customs officers swore allegiance to the Motherland under the main banner of the republic, flags and banners of the customs authorities.
"Taking the Oath is a confirmation of the conscious choice of the path of service to the Fatherland. Our common goal is to strengthen national unity, work creatively, carefully preserve and continue the customs service traditions. You are the future of the country. Of course, we want each of you to become a worthy person, and, of course, a true professional in your chosen field!" - Chairman of the State Customs Committee Vladimir Orlovsky addressed the sworn in.
The customs officers excitedly and solemnly uttered the words that will now be a vital guideline - to be loyal to the state and the people, vigilant in the performance of their official duties, comply with the law, and protect the economic sovereignty of the country.
Metropolitan of Minsk and Zaslavl, Patriarchal Exarch of All Belarus Veniamin congratulated the young recruits on an important event in their lives and blessed them for successful service.
The youth were greeted by the leadership of the customs authorities, veterans of the customs service, parents and colleagues.
The recruits thanked for the opportunity to link their professional lives with customs and assured that they would serve with honor and dignity.
It is gratifying that half of those sworn in have graduated from institutions of higher education in a specialized specialty. All of them have already been awarded their first personal rank and they are successfully working at the customs border and at departmental customs clearance points.
