The driver tried to hide the goods from customs control in the structural cavity of the bus on which he was traveling from Lithuania. Now the Lithuanian carrier company may lose its vehicle.
A 34-year-old man hid two wetsuits and auto parts in a fuse box.
The hiding place was established by Grodno customs officers as a result of an inspection, to which the bus was sent based on the results of vehicle scanning using a X-ray inspection system.
The goods and the VANHOOL 2006 bus, with a total value of more than 280 thousand rubles, were seized before the court decision.
Grodno regional Customs has initiated an administrative process under Part 2 of Article 15.1 of the Administrative Code of the Republic of Belarus (movement of goods subject to declaration with concealment from customs control, that is, using caches or other methods that make it difficult to detect them).
The sanction of the article provides for a fine of up to 30 basic units with confiscation of hidden goods and a vehicle.
