The 49-year-old Belarusian citizen was traveling from Poland through the Kozlovichi checkpoint. He told Brest customs officers that he had no goods subject to declaration, restricted or prohibited from movement.
His car was nevertheless examined using a X-ray inspection complex. After analyzing the scan, they decided to send it for inspection.
The packages with 550 tulip bulbs, products of high phytosanitary risk that are restricted to movement, were removed by customs officers from structural niches - behind the panels above the instrument panel, seats, and even under the decorative plastic lining of the cabin.
Goods hidden from customs control and a 2023 tractor worth about 440 thousand rubles were seized.
Brest Customs has initiated an administrative process in accordance with Part 2 of Article 15.1 of the Administrative Code of the Republic of Belarus (movement of goods with concealment from control using a cache).
The sanction of the article provides for the imposition of a fine of up to 30 basic units with possible confiscation of the hidden goods and the vehicle used to move the hidden goods.
