The driver of a FIAT passenger car hid 5,000 euros in a package with wet wipes, intending to hide them from customs control.
The Belarusian citizen entered from Lithuania through the "Benyakoni" checkpoint, where he chose a green channel to cross the border.
During an oral interview with the customs officer, he informed that he was transferring 5.5 thousand euros and 200 Belarusian rubles. This information raised doubts among the inspector.
As a result of the inspection, a package with wet wipes was removed from the bag, inside of which there were 5 thousand euros that were not declared.
Hidden funds have been withdrawn. The Grodno Regional Customs has initiated administrative proceedings against a 44-year-old man in accordance with Part 2 of Article 15.1 of the Administrative Code of the Republic of Belarus.
We remind citizens that cash is subject to customs declaration if the total amount of its one-time import into or export from the country exceeds the equivalent of 10,000 US dollars. To do this, follow the red channel of the checkpoint and fill out the passenger customs declaration.
