A delegation of the Belarusian customs headed by Chairman of the State Customs Committee Vladimir Orlovsky took part in the 54th meeting of the Joint Board of Customs Services of the EAEU countries and the 82nd meeting of the Council of Heads of Customs Services of the CIS countries, which took place in Kazakhstan today.

At the meeting of the board, the customs services of the EAEU countries agreed on positions on 27 issues of cooperation, nine of which were initiated by the Belarusian side.

Representatives of the State Customs Committee made proposals regarding the implementation of Technical Conditions for information interaction in the framework of the control of common customs processes, the use of artificial intelligence technologies in the analysis of information and documents, monitoring temporarily imported vehicles for personal use, and the organization of piggyback transportation.

At the second event, 19 issues were considered with the participation of the delegations of the customs services of the CIS countries. The customs services also signed a Memorandum of Understanding on the simplification of transit transportation.

Belarusian customs officers shared their experience in using information technology and software, prospects for introducing digital innovations to improve customs administration, and also talked about the practical aspects of using technical means of customs control, in particular, inspection and inspection complexes.

Also, during the international working trip, the head of the Belarusian customs discussed at a bilateral meeting with the head of the Federal Customs Service of Russia Valery Pikalyov topical issues of cooperation, including the mutual exchange of necessary information on customs declaration in real time.

The Republic of Belarus has been designated as the host of the regular meetings of the Joint Board of Customs Services of the EAEU countries and the Council of Heads of Customs Services of the CIS countries.
