A 43-year-old citizen of the Republic of Belarus, an international bus driver, hid branded accessories and shoes from customs control. He was traveling from Poland through the Brest checkpoint.
The driver's statement about the absence of goods subject to declaration raised doubts among Brest customs officers. A decision was made to inspect the vehicle.
As a result, branded accessories and shoes were found in the technological cavity of the bus. Among them - a purse, a backpack, a clutch, sneakers with a total cost of about 20 thousand rubles.
Access to the goods became possible after dismantling the shelves and the lid covering the technological cavity. The goods and the 2005 bus, the estimated value of which was about 360 thousand rubles, were seized.
Brest Customs has initiated an administrative process in accordance with Part 2 of Article 15.1 of the Administrative Code of the Republic of Belarus. The sanction of the article provides for the imposition of a fine of up to 30 basic units with possible confiscation of illegally transported goods and a vehicle used to move hidden goods.
