Ten gold coins worth about 35 thousand rubles were hidden from customs control by a citizen of Belarus

A citizen of Belarus hid from customs officers that he was moving ten gold coins worth about 35 thousand rubles across the border.

He drove from Lithuania to Belarus in a MERCEDES car through the «Kamenny Log» checkpoint. I followed the red corridor because I submitted a declaration for my vehicle. During the oral interview, the driver stated that he had no other goods to declare.

Only the control carried out by Grodno customs officers did not confirm the man's words. The coins were found in his personal belongings.

An expert from the Customs Laboratory examined the goods and concluded that coins of various denominations produced in Italy, Norway, the USA, Canada, the Russian Empire, and the Austrian Netherlands contain more than 90% gold. Seven of them were created more than 100 years ago and belong to cultural values.

Grodno regional Customs has initiated administrative proceedings against the citizen in accordance with Part 2 of Article 15.1 and Part 4 of Article 15.5 of the Administrative Code of the Republic of Belarus.
