Mogilev customs officers established two attempts to illegally transport more than 20 tons of chilled salmon from Belarus during special events. The drivers who were traveling with the goods to Russia did not have the accompanying documents required for moving the products, as well as veterinary certificates confirming their safety for consumption.

In the first case, 12 tons of fish products in a DAF truck stopped by customs officers along with traffic police officers were also covered with boxes of frozen carrots.

And in the second case, more than 8 tons of chilled salmon were transported in two Ford Transit and Mercedes-Benz Sprinter cars. One of the drivers told the customs officers that he had purchased such a quantity in Minsk for himself and asked the second driver to help with the transportation of the goods.

According to two facts, the total cost of salmon amounted to almost 740 thousand Belarusian rubles.

Mogilev Customs has initiated administrative proceedings in accordance with Article 13.12 of the Administrative Code of the Republic of Belarus. The sanction of the article provides for a fine in the first case - up to 50% of the value of the subject of an administrative offense, in the second - up to 30 basic units. Also, on the second fact, where there are signs of an offense under Article 13.3 of the Administrative Code of the Republic of Belarus, the materials were transferred to the Inspectorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Mogilev region.
