A saber illegally imported into Belarus and recognized as a cold weapon was seized by Minsk customs officers.
There was no information about weapons in the shipping documents submitted by the Kazakh carrier for registration of the combined cargo (textiles, auto parts, electrical appliances, etc.) in the departmental vocational training center "Belkultorg".
In order to confirm the classification of the goods as cold weapons, the import of which is prohibited without permits, the item was sent for examination to a Customs laboratory.
The expert confirmed that the saber is factory-made and is a blade weapon of slashing and piercing action.
The Minsk Regional Customs has initiated an administrative process in accordance with Part 1 of Article 15.5 of the Administrative Code of the Republic of Belarus. The saber was seized before the court decision.
