Today, Foreign Minister Maxim Ryzhenkov, together with Brest Region Governor Piotr Parkhomchik, inspected the Kozlovichi and Brest checkpoints. Sergei Yakuta, Head of the Brest Customs Office, spoke about the functioning of the customs border in the Brest Region.
Maxim Ryzhenkov praised the checkpoint infrastructure and the conditions created for those crossing the Belarusian-Polish border.
The Kozlovichi checkpoint is the largest cargo terminal in the Eurasian Economic Union, with a daily capacity of over 2,000 trucks on 18 channels.
The guests also toured the largest waiting area in Europe, located near the Kozlovichi checkpoint. The ceremonial opening of the area, which can accommodate 790 trucks, took place on January 29. In addition to parking spaces for trucks, the waiting area includes refrigerated vehicle connection points, entry and exit checkpoints, information boards, roadside service buildings with a sales area and a café serving hot food, heated restrooms, and utility rooms.
During his visit to the Brest checkpoint, Maxim Ryzhenkov also inspected the construction of a nearby waiting area. The site will accommodate over 235 cars and 50 buses.
As part of its development, checkpoints, a transformer substation, a diesel generator, vehicle charging stations, and seven electronic boards have already been installed. A restroom block with showers is also available. The work is 90% complete.
In January 2026, a remote registration system for the electronic queue was launched (previously, registration took place directly in the waiting area). Anyone can register in advance and arrive at the checkpoint at the appointed time. Additionally, a paid "reservation" service was introduced this year. It allows you to reserve a spot to cross the border without waiting in line. This service can be used at each border crossing point up to 24 times a day.
