Grodno customs officers found caches of hidden spare parts for industrial machinery in the car of a 46-year-old Belarusian who arrived from Lithuania.
The man crossed the border through the red corridor of the Kamenny Log checkpoint, where he filed a declaration for the temporary importation of his vehicle. He told the customs officers that he had no other goods to declare.
Nevertheless, the car was sent for inspection using an inspection complex, which was followed by an inspection. Caches of hidden spare parts were equipped inside the backs of the rear passenger seats and in the trunk cavities.
Illegally transported goods and a 2006 passenger car with a total value of about 40 thousand bel. rubles were seized before the court decision.
Grodno Regional Customs has initiated an administrative process under Part 2 of Article 151 of the Administrative Code of the Republic of Belarus. Now a citizen can lose his car.
