Gomel customs officers have established the latest facts of illegal transportation of clothes and shoes from Russia to Belarus, as well as information about the payment of customs duties upon importation into the territory of the EAEU.
Two vehicles with goods en route to Gomel were stopped at the Belarusian-Russian border during a special event.
Additional forms of customs control were required to identify the goods. As a result, it was established that a total of over 500 items of clothing and shoes, which were planned to be sold in Belarus, are being imported illegally.
Gomel Customs has initiated administrative proceedings against individual entrepreneurs on the facts of illegal transportation of goods in accordance with Article 13.12 of the Administrative Code of the Republic of Belarus.
The sanction of the article provides for a fine of up to 50% of the value of the subject of an administrative offense.
