Departmental volleyball competitions ended today in Lida. The Grodno Regional Customs team confirmed its title of champions in this sport, becoming the winner of the winners' Cup for the fifth year in a row.
Over the course of five competitive days, 10 teams representing all customs offices, the State Customs Committee, the departmental Institute and RUE Beltamozhservice competed for a place on the podium. The customs officers played in two subgroups in a round-robin system. The finalists were determined based on the results of the places occupied in the group.
Vitebsk customs officers became the bronze medalists of the championship. In the decisive game for the third place, the Vitebsk team beat the Gomel Customs team with a score of 3:2.
The Grodno and Minsk regional customs offices met in the final. Grodno residents won a landslide victory – 3:0, and the team of the Minsk regional Customs won silver.
During the championship, the best players were also identified, they were Artyom Matushevsky from the Grodno regional Customs and Valeria Yaskevich, representing the Minsk regional Customs. Ksenia Okulenko from the Operational Customs was awarded a special prize "For the will to win."
Alexander Pihun, Head of the Grodno Regional Customs, congratulated the athletes on the successful completion of the tournament, thanked them for their fair play and noted the high level of training of the participants.
