During the anti-drug operation "Channel - Amber Coast” on the Belarusian-Russian border section, Vitebsk customs officers stopped two attempts to move narcotic substances.
In the first case, examining the luggage compartment of a passenger car driven by a Russian citizen, a transparent plastic bag with a substance of plant origin was removed from a travel suitcase.
In the second case, checking the personal belongings of another driver, already a citizen of Belarus, a foil package with a prohibited substance was seized.
The conclusions of the SFEC experts in the Vitebsk region confirmed that these are marijuana and hashish.
Vitebsk Customs has initiated criminal proceedings against citizens in accordance with Part 1 of Article 328-1 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Belarus. The sanction of the article provides for a penalty of up to seven years in prison.
