During customs control of a passenger arriving at Minsk National Airport on a «Tel Aviv – Minsk» flight, Minsk customs officers revealed the fact of illegal movement of a large amount of cash across the border.

One of the passengers, who chose the green channel for crossing the border, did not mention that he had 33 thousand US dollars in equivalent. Funds in various currencies were in the citizen's luggage.

This amount is more than three times the legal limit for movement without declaration.

The Operational Customs has opened a criminal case against an Israeli citizen in accordance with Part 2 of Article 228 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Belarus. The sanction of the article provides for punishment up to imprisonment for up to five years with confiscation of funds.

We would like to draw your attention to the need for mandatory written declaration of cash in the amount equivalent to 10,000 US dollars or more when they are moved across the customs border. To do this, follow the red channel of the checkpoint.
