Brest customs officers seized marijuana from a bus passenger.
The 37-year-old Belarusian arrived at the Brest checkpoint on a regular bus from Poland, and chose the green corridor to cross the customs border.
During the inspection of the bus, the service dog indicated the presence of prohibited substances in the bus. A package with a green substance wrapped with electrical tape was located between the passenger seats.
The identity of the parcel to a citizen of Belarus was determined by customs officers during further verification measures.
The expert opinion of the Department of the State Customs Committee for the Brest region confirmed that it was marijuana weighing about 4 grams.
Brest Customs has opened a criminal case under Part 1 of Article 328-1 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Belarus. A citizen may be imprisoned for up to 7 years.
