Brest customs officers established two further facts of deliberate evasion of customs payments in full when registering vehicles belonging to Polish carriers at the Kozlovichi checkpoint.
So, in a SCANIA truck, 21 tons of used clothes and bags worth 240 thousand rubles were transported from Georgia. The driver provided accompanying documents for registration containing false information about the goods, which could lead to an underestimation of the amount of customs duties payable by 60 thousand rubles.
In the second case, the documents intentionally omitted a part of the shoes worth 45 thousand rubles, which arrived from the Czech Republic in a VOLVO truck. This was established during the vehicle inspection at the Brest-FEZ departmental customs clearance point. For 660 pairs that were not declared in the documents, but were actually in the car, it was necessary to pay more than 9 thousand rubles in additional payments.
Brest Customs has initiated administrative proceedings against Polish carriers in accordance with Article 15.5 of the Administrative Code of the Republic of Belarus. The sanction of the article provides for a fine of up to 30% of the value of the subject of an administrative offense. They will also have to pay the missing customs fees.
