A Polish carrier attempted to save approximately 70,000 rubles on customs duties while transporting a shipment of auto parts. Grodno customs officials discovered a violation of the law.
The auto parts were imported in a SCANIA vehicle through the Berestoviсa checkpoint. During a customs inspection, discrepancies were discovered between the goods actually in the cargo compartment and those listed in the documents. Over 4,700 parts, worth over 360,000 rubles, were undeclared.
The Grodno Regional Customs Office has initiated administrative proceedings against the Polish carrier under Part 1 of Article 15.5 of the Code of Administrative Offenses of the Republic of Belarus.
The carrier will pay a fine of 30% of the value of the item of the administrative offense, as well as any outstanding customs duties.
