A married couple of individual entrepreneurs from Gomel tried to illegally import a large shipment of foreign goods into the country. This is the third such fact established by Gomel customs officers during the month.
The movement of a MERCEDES-BENZ car was stopped during special operations on the M-10 road section in the Dobrushsky district.
The trailer contained 6 thousand pieces of clothing, shoes, bags, consumer goods, which were transported without the necessary documents. Accordingly, they were imported into the territory of the EAEU without paying customs duties.
The total cost of the cargo was about 120 thousand Belarusian rubles.
The customs officers decided to place the car in the customs control area. The driver refused to comply with the legal requirement, and his wife, who acted as a carrier, tried to settle the issue with invalid documents.
Gomel Customs has initiated an administrative process against the driver for disobeying the request of an official in accordance with Article 24.3 of the Administrative Code of the Republic of Belarus.
The carrier, his spouse, faces a fine of up to 50% of the value of the subject of an administrative offense in accordance with art. 13.12 of the Administrative Code of the Republic of Belarus.
