A German citizen who arrived at Minsk National Airport on an Istanbul-Minsk flight did not declare 15 gold bars.

She crossed the customs border along a green corridor designed to travel without goods subject to declaration.

Minsk customs officers questioned her actions, redirected the woman to the red corridor. And during the baggage inspection, they found gold bars and a coin.

The citizen said that she had purchased valuables on markets in various countries and was not sure if they were really gold.

The alleged gold has been sent for examination. The result of the study was 15 gold bars of 999.9 samples with a total weight of more than 117 grams and a gold coin weighing more than 30 grams.

The cost of illegally transported goods across the border amounted to more than 78 thousand rubles.

The Minsk Regional Customs has initiated administrative proceedings against the citizen in accordance with Part 4 of Article 15.5 of the Administrative Code of the Republic of Belarus.

The sanction of the article provides for liability in the form of a fine in the amount of up to 30% of the value of the subject of an administrative offense.
