A 51-year-old passenger of an international bus who arrived at the Brest checkpoint was detained due to an attempt to import a particularly dangerous drug into Belarus.

Crossing the border, the man stated that he had no prohibited or restricted goods, confirming his words by choosing to follow the green corridor.

In the customs clearance room, the citizen nevertheless attracted the attention of the service dog.

During the inspection of his personal belongings, Brest customs officers removed a glasses case from his shoulder bag, inside of which there was a package with a white substance.

The forensic examination confirmed that the seized substance is cocaine weighing 0.47 grams.

Brest Customs has opened a criminal case against a Russian citizen in accordance with Part 2 of Article 328-1 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Belarus. The sanction of the article provides for punishment up to imprisonment for up to 10 years.
