The driver of the Warsaw-Minsk bus will be brought to administrative responsibility for an attempt to illegally import a batch of auto parts into the territory of the EAEU. To hide the goods from customs control, a 45-year-old citizen of the Republic of Belarus equipped a hiding place in the vehicle.

He was traveling from Poland through the Brest checkpoint along the bus corridor. During the oral interview, the driver stated that he did not have any goods subject to customs declaration. However, during the inspection of the vehicle, customs officers found brackets, valves, bolts and other auto parts in the technological cavity of the bus. Access to the contents was obtained after removing the lid that covered the cavity. The total cost of the undeclared auto parts was about 15 thousand bel. rubles.

Later, the man explained that in Warsaw he was asked to move these items for a monetary reward, and he hid the goods to avoid paying customs duties.

Auto parts and a 2012 bus with a total estimated value of more than 400 thousand bel. rubles were seized before the court decision.

Brest Customs has initiated administrative proceedings against the driver in accordance with Part 2 of Article 15.1 of the Administrative Code of the Republic. Now he faces a fine of up to 30 basic units, and the transport company may lose the bus, since the sanction of the article also provides for the possible confiscation of the vehicle used to move the hidden goods.
