Scanning international mail items, in three of those that arrived in the address of Belarusians from the territory of the EAEU member states, employees of the customs post "Minsk National Airport" found three objects that outwardly resemble sabers and swords.
According to shipping documents, the parcels contained souvenir weapons, special knives and materials.
It was decided to send these objects of control for examination to confirm the classification of goods as cold and throwing weapons, which are prohibited for movement in parcels.
The expert recognized all the examined objects as bladed cold weapons of piercing, chopping and cutting action.
Experts also noted that the saber under study was made by self-made method, and in appearance and design features it resembles the saber of 1610. The swords are factory–made, one of them is similar to the Japanese katana, the other is similar to the Chinese dadao.
The Minsk regional Customs handed over materials and samples of weapons to the territorial bodies of the Ministry of Internal Affairs for further verification measures.Related tags
