The situation on the Belarusian-Polish border, the construction of the largest waiting area in Europe located near it, and the effectiveness of the new stationary inspection and inspection complex recently commissioned at the Kozlovichi checkpoint were assessed today by Chairman of the State Customs Committee Vladimir Orlovsky.

The situation with queues at the border remains consistently difficult, with neighboring countries hindering the normal movement of vehicles. The development of waiting areas near Belarusian checkpoints is an urgent project to streamline the movement of vehicles and ensure safe waiting. This year, we will complete the construction of a zone near Kozlovich, the largest terminal in the country. 800 heavy trucks can be accommodated on 15 hectares, and this is a 1.5 km queue. The entire social standard for drivers has also been taken into account," Vladimir Orlovsky said about the project under construction.

He met with the staff of the Kozlovichi checkpoint, talked about the 80th anniversary of the Victory in the war, the relationship between the past and the future, and projects implemented by the customs authorities aimed at perpetuating the memory of the heroes.

After that, he inspected the work on transshipment of goods from railway trains to vehicles on the territory of the Brest-Beltamozhservice-3 shopping center, with the facilities available for this, including the equipment of a temporary storage warehouse.

At the Brest checkpoint, Vladimir Orlovsky talked with citizens crossing the border, and took personal control of the issues they identified.

Monitoring vehicles and goods coming to our country, five different scanning units are used here, both stationary and mobile. Vladimir Orlovsky dwelled on the effectiveness of using each of them separately.

He also visited the waiting area near the checkpoint, designed for 135 parking spaces. The site will be expanded in the near future, and its capabilities will increase fourfold.
