Vitebsk customs officers stopped an attempt to illegally move a shipment of expensive foreign household appliances from Russia, for which there was no information about the payment of customs duties upon importation into the territory of the EAEU.

The movement of the IVECO car, which contained the goods, was stopped by the operatives during special operations on the Belarusian-Russian border in the Dubrovensky district.

The driver was unable to provide any documents required for transportation, including those confirming the legality of the import of goods into the territory of the EAEU.

The cost of about 2,700 drills, music speakers, vacuum packers, slow cookers, irons and vacuum cleaners amounted to almost 320 thousand Belarusian rubles.

Vitebsk Customs has initiated an administrative process in accordance with Article 13.12 of the Administrative Code of the Republic of Belarus. The sanction of the article provides for the imposition of a fine in the amount of up to 50% of the value of the items of an administrative offense.
