Gomel customs officers stopped an attempt to illegally move several shipments of foreign-made consumer goods from Russia, for which there was no information about the payment of customs duties upon importation into the territory of the EAEU.

So, during a special event on the Belarusian-Russian border, customs officers stopped the Gomel-Moscow-Gomel passenger bus, which contained the goods.

18 Homel individual entrepreneurs and two other citizens, including a bus driver, intended to import a total of more than 9,000 pieces of clothing and shoes worth about 270 thousand rubles without any documents. The goods were planned to be sold in the markets of Gomel.

Administrative proceedings have been initiated against all violators under Article 13.12 of the Administrative Code of the Republic of Belarus. The sanction of the article provides for a fine of up to 50% of the value of the subject of an administrative offense.
